Description:

We’re looking for an Illustrator Trainee who’s eager to grow their artistic voice while learning how illustration works in a professional creative environment — no experience required, just passion, discipline, and a great eye for detail. You’ll work alongside our creative team to support illustration needs for branding, social media, packaging, and storytelling projects. We’ll teach you how to follow briefs, meet visual guidelines, and communicate ideas clearly through drawing. You’ll work closely with designers, writers, and art directors to bring concepts to life in ways that are both creative and purposeful. Expect to experiment with color palettes, line styles, shading techniques, and visual storytelling across multiple formats. You’ll gain experience with both digital and hand-drawn workflows depending on your tools and preferred medium. We’ll guide you in building balanced compositions, exploring color theory, and refining line work with clarity and consistency. You’ll take part in feedback sessions that focus on color harmony, storytelling strength, and message clarity. You’ll receive clear, kind feedback and learn how to iterate your work professionally in response to direction.

Basic Qualifications:

• Refine rough concepts into polished, detailed compositions that serve a clear purpose.
• Illustrate for a wide range of content: books, marketing campaigns, apps, packaging, or editorial pieces.
• Work closely with writers, designers, and art directors to match visuals with messaging and brand tone.
• Be proud of your craft—your illustrations are often the first thing people notice.
• Create original illustrations that bring ideas, stories, or products to life across digital and print formats.

Preferred:

• Organized with version control, layer structure, and naming conventions in illustration files.
• Enjoys bringing ideas, emotions, or narratives to life through illustration.
• Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling techniques.
• Values creativity, originality, and clarity in every piece of visual work.
• Familiar with licensing terms, usage rights, and contracts in freelance or in-house settings.
