As a Freelance Resume Writer, you’ll help people present themselves in the best possible light during one of life’s most stressful moments — job hunting. You’ll work with a wide range of individuals — from tech professionals to creatives to career changers — and tailor resumes to their unique journeys. You’ll work directly with clients to understand their experience, strengths, and goals. You’ll take raw input — sometimes voice notes, old resumes, or scattered thoughts — and build clean, strategic documents from scratch. You understand how to format for readability, keyword optimization, and that all-important professional polish. Your day might start with a senior executive’s CV and end with a student’s first resume — and you can handle both with ease. You’ll edit ruthlessly, format cleanly, and write with both recruiters and ATS in mind. You know when to be concise, when to elaborate, and how to position gaps or transitions honestly but positively. We’re looking for someone who can balance multiple projects while maintaining quality and consistency.

Basic Qualifications:

• Above all, help people feel confident in how they present themselves—your words help them land opportunities.
• Translate technical or complex experience into plain, compelling language that resonates with recruiters and hiring managers.
• Provide honest but constructive feedback when client expectations don’t match best practices or realities of the job market.
• Write clear, concise, and achievement-focused resumes tailored to the client’s industry, role, and level of experience.
• Gather information through intake forms, Zoom calls, or written notes to deeply understand each client’s career story.

Preferred:

• Can tailor resumes to specific job descriptions and employer expectations.
• Keeps up with hiring trends, resume best practices, and evolving job market needs.
• Can handle multiple projects and revisions while meeting deadlines.
• Background or interest in HR, recruiting, career coaching, or communications.
• Comfortable writing LinkedIn summaries or cover letters as part of the service.
