Description:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Transcriptionist to join our team and transcribe audio and video files into written documents. You’ll be responsible for transcribing various types of audio and video files, including interviews, webinars, podcasts, and meetings. You’ll ensure every transcription is clear, well-structured, and includes accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and necessary formatting. You’ll work with various formats, including audio, video, and even live transcriptions, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work. You’ll handle confidential and sensitive information, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times. You’ll handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and adhere to confidentiality agreements. You’ll be working with diverse content, including legal, medical, and technical audio, requiring specialized knowledge for accuracy. You’ll be adept at transcribing both clean audio and challenging audio, including varied accents and technical jargon.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay current with transcription tools, keyboard shortcuts, and productivity techniques to increase output without losing accuracy.
• Format transcripts according to specific guidelines—verbatim, clean read, time-coded, speaker-labeled, etc.
• Stay focused during long sessions—transcription requires mental stamina and active listening.
• Mark unclear audio with timestamps or tags (e.g., [inaudible], [crosstalk]) and follow up when clarification is needed.
• Transcribe in multiple languages or accents (if multilingual) or follow regional spelling/grammar preferences (e.g., US vs. UK English).

Preferred:

• Comfortable working with audio that includes accents, background noise, or technical terminology.
• Can transcribe in English fluently; other language skills are a bonus.
• Capable of editing and proofreading transcripts before submission.
• Comfortable working with different types of content — interviews, podcasts, legal, medical, or academic.
• Able to distinguish between multiple speakers and add appropriate labels or timestamps.

You’ll track your time and progress effectively, ensuring all work is completed in a professional and organized manner.
