Description:

We’re hiring a Paramedic Trainee to support disaster response teams — ideal for someone who wants to learn how emergency care works in high-stress, unpredictable environments. You’ll begin by shadowing licensed paramedics on real calls, observing how they assess, stabilize, and transport patients under pressure. You’ll assist in restocking ambulances with medical supplies, checking equipment like defibrillators, oxygen tanks, and trauma kits before each shift. You’ll be trained to communicate with nurses and hospital staff during patient handoffs, making sure no detail is missed. You’ll learn how to monitor patients during transit, recording vitals, comfort levels, and any changes in condition. You’ll help guide guests to care areas discreetly and communicate with event staff when assistance is needed. You’ll be trained to spot early signs of medical distress in crowds, such as dehydration, intoxication, or anxiety. You’ll learn how to respond calmly to a wide range of situations — from car accidents to cardiac arrests to non-emergency transports. You’ll support team hygiene routines by cleaning and disinfecting the ambulance between transports and after patient contact.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Keep certifications like CPR, ACLS, and PHTLS current through regular training and education.
  • Use specialized equipment such as oxygen delivery systems, IV lines, EKG monitors, or stretchers effectively.
  • Participate in debriefings or peer support after traumatic incidents to maintain mental health.
  • Stay physically and mentally prepared for long shifts, night work, or back-to-back emergencies.
  • Respond rapidly to emergency calls and assess the condition of patients at the scene.

Preferred:

  • Experience providing emergency medical care in high-stress, time-sensitive situations such as accidents or cardiac events.
  • Enjoys being the first to respond and make a direct difference in patient outcomes.
  • Pays close attention to symptoms, injury mechanisms, and situational awareness while on scene.
  • Willing to work long shifts, overnight rotations, weekends, and holidays as required by emergency response schedules.
  • Values resilience, teamwork, and quick thinking in life-or-death situations.

Benefits:

  • Break areas stocked and prioritized — you can't pour from an empty cup.
  • Paid rest time after high-stress calls — we understand adrenaline crashes.
  • Mental health support is not an afterthought — debriefs, therapy options, and peer groups.
  • Stable insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off — because caregivers need care too.
  • Weekly or bi-weekly pay, bonuses for night shifts and holidays.

You’ll support crew debriefings after calls, helping to reset equipment, clean the vehicle, and prepare for the next response. You’ll receive training in working independently and staying calm when you’re the only medical presence for miles. You’ll help load supplies onto stretchers, distribute water or blankets, and comfort people in the first minutes after shock. You’ll gain exposure to emergency protocols, safety briefings, and chain-of-command structures used in disaster zones. You’ll be surrounded by seasoned medics who will show you how to stay sharp, focused, and human in the hardest moments. No experience is needed — just a deep sense of responsibility, curiosity, and respect for the challenges of rural medicine. This internship is perfect for those pursuing emergency medicine, search-and-rescue, or humanitarian response work. If you’re ready to help patients get where they need to be with care and clarity, we’re ready to train you.
