Description:

We’re hiring a Journalist / Copywriter Trainee — no professional experience needed, just a strong interest in storytelling, clear writing, and digging deeper than surface-level facts. You’ll assist in researching topics, interviewing real people, and turning facts, quotes, and moments into written pieces that inform and resonate. We’ll teach you how to structure a story, ask better questions, and follow leads that others might miss. You’ll learn to write in different voices depending on the brand — from serious B2B to warm lifestyle tones. Expect to help with field notes, email interviews, transcription, and shaping human voices into readable, respectful narratives. You’ll get experience interviewing people, pulling quotes, writing follow-up questions, and editing for tone and accuracy. We’ll show you how to write for real people — with clarity, flow, and zero fluff — whether it’s a 100-word promo or a 1,000-word how-to. Some days you’ll cover real-time updates, other days you’ll chase slower stories that take time to unfold — both matter. You’ll gain habits around writing concisely, testing alternatives, and thinking about tone in moments of success, error, or hesitation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Write clear, compelling content across formats—articles, blog posts, emails, landing pages, and more.
  • Research topics thoroughly using credible sources, interviews, and data to support your writing.
  • Write headlines, subject lines, and social copy that grab attention without being clickbait.
  • Proofread everything—twice—before it goes live or to print.
  • Pitch story ideas that feel fresh, relevant, and aligned with brand or publication direction.

Preferred:

  • Knows how to write calls to action, summaries, and structured intros that hook readers.
  • Experience writing articles, blog posts, press releases, or branded content in a journalistic or marketing context.
  • Comfortable conducting interviews, sourcing quotes, and verifying facts for credibility and accuracy.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms.
  • Organized in managing content calendars, drafts, feedback, and final delivery timelines.

Benefits:

  • Constructive edits, not ego bruises — we build writers up here.
  • Bylines, credits, and public praise — your work gets the spotlight it deserves.
  • Feedback culture rooted in respect — and the occasional meme.
  • Clear briefs, solid feedback, and editors who care about clarity over nitpicking commas.
  • Flexible deadlines where possible — we respect flow, not just clocks.

You’ll also assist with writing UX writing documentation, guidelines, and copy decks for design systems. This role is great if you enjoy writing clean, helpful text that explains, sells, or simply sounds good in someone’s inbox. You’ll work with real clients or in-house projects, so your words won’t just stay in drafts — they’ll go live. No writing degree? This is a great fit if you enjoy conversations, care about nuance, and want your words to reflect something true and lasting. You’ll build a portfolio that shows both smart content execution and thoughtful editorial decisions. This is perfect if you love writing, but also enjoy working faster, smarter, and experimenting with modern workflows. If you’re ready to grow as a practical, clear, and conversion-aware writer — we’re ready to help you get there. If you’re ready to grow into a writer people trust and read — we’re ready to train you, one sentence at a time.
