Description:

We’re looking for a meticulous and dedicated Game Tester to join our team and help ensure our games are free from bugs and glitches. You’ll be responsible for testing a wide range of game features, including gameplay mechanics, levels, multiplayer modes, and more. You’ll work closely with the development team to identify and document bugs, glitches, and other technical issues affecting gameplay. You’ll test games on different devices and platforms, ensuring that everything functions properly across all configurations. You’ll assist in providing detailed feedback on user experience, providing input on game design, controls, and mechanics. You’ll provide feedback on gameplay mechanics, level design, and player progression to help enhance the gaming experience. You’ll work with different testing tools to simulate various conditions, including network problems, performance issues, and hardware limitations. You’ll ensure the game’s performance is up to standard, testing for crashes, slowdowns, or any performance issues across different systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Document issues clearly using bug tracking systems like Jira or TestRail, including steps to reproduce, screenshots, and severity levels.
• Monitor frame rates, load times, and crash reports to support performance testing and optimization efforts.
• Collaborate with QA leads, developers, and designers to verify fixes and ensure issues are resolved before release.
• Follow detailed test cases as well as perform exploratory testing to catch unexpected or edge-case bugs.
• Perform regression testing after patches or updates to ensure old bugs haven’t returned and new ones haven’t been introduced.

Preferred:

• Understands how to provide both subjective feedback and objective testing data.
• Can clearly describe how to reproduce issues in written bug reports.
• Able to meet deadlines, especially when working with live or launch-critical builds.
• Comfortable with alpha, beta, or pre-release versions that may be unstable.
• Knows how to capture screenshots or video clips for bug evidence and reports.

You’ll stay current with new gaming trends, technologies, and industry standards to improve your testing skills and efficiency.
