Description:

We’re hiring a Caregiver to support children with special needs — ideal for someone who’s patient, encouraging, and passionate about helping young people grow in their own unique way. You’ll assist older adults with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, always with sensitivity to their mobility and comfort levels. You’ll help with evening routines such as changing into sleepwear, medication reminders, and settling into bed peacefully. You’ll support play, learning, and engagement through structured games, routines, or creative exploration depending on the child’s interests. You’ll help with walking, transferring from bed or chair, and using walkers or canes safely around the home. You’ll provide companionship through conversation, games, walks, or simply sitting together during quiet moments. You’ll document sleep quality, incidents, or changes in condition that occurred during the shift. You’ll monitor signs of fatigue, overstimulation, or discomfort, adapting the environment or pace as needed. You’ll document daily updates, small victories, mood shifts, and challenges to support long-term progress tracking.

Basic Qualifications:

• Communicate clearly and kindly with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Administer medications according to schedule and keep accurate records if required.
• Respect the dignity, privacy, and independence of clients in all interactions.
• Respond calmly and responsibly in emergencies, calling for help when necessary.
• Provide end-of-life comfort and palliative support when working in hospice or long-term care.

Preferred:

• Can support individuals with dementia, limited mobility, or chronic conditions with patience and attentiveness.
• Able to offer emotional support, engage in meaningful conversation, and reduce isolation through companionship.
• Understands how to respond to emergencies calmly and notify family members or supervisors promptly.
• Able to assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while respecting the dignity and privacy of clients.
• Comfortable reminding clients to take medication and observing for changes in physical or emotional well-being.
