Description:

We’re hiring a Loader Trainee for our night shift — perfect for someone who prefers quiet, steady work and wants to support warehouse flow while the city sleeps. You’ll assist with loading and unloading containers from trucks and ships, learning how port operations run 24/7. You’ll assist in checking product labels, expiration dates, and storage instructions before organizing items by category. You’ll help with strapping, bracing, and securing shipments inside containers using safety-approved methods. You’ll help prepare shipments by loading trucks with care, balancing loads to prevent shifting during transport. You’ll learn how to follow FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation, helping prevent food waste and inventory loss. You’ll learn how to wrap pallets, stack boxes properly, and secure loads so they travel safely during transport. You’ll be taught how to use shrink wrap, straps, and other materials to secure freight during transit. You’ll help keep loading zones clear of hazards and clutter, ensuring a safe workspace for everyone on shift.

Basic Qualifications:

• Adapt to changing priorities and load schedules during peak periods or weather delays.
• Double-check load accuracy to reduce delays, returns, or safety issues down the line.
• Wear required protective gear like gloves, vests, and steel-toed boots during all tasks.
• Communicate with drivers, supervisors, or warehouse staff to coordinate loading activities.
• Follow company procedures and safety protocols at all times—no shortcuts.

Preferred:

• Familiar with proper lifting techniques and use of equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and hand trucks.
• Capable of reading packing slips, load lists, or digital scanners to confirm accuracy of shipments.
• Background or interest in logistics, shipping, warehouse operations, or freight handling.
• Willing to work in outdoor or indoor loading areas under varying weather or temperature conditions.
• Wants to grow into roles like Forklift Operator, Loading Supervisor, or Dock Coordinator.
