Description:

We’re hiring a skilled and meticulous Transcriptionist to join our team and provide accurate, high-quality transcriptions for various projects. You’ll be responsible for transcribing audio and video recordings, including interviews, focus groups, podcasts, and webinars. You’ll work with a variety of file formats, using transcription software to enhance your workflow while ensuring high-quality output. You’ll work with a range of file formats, ensuring each transcription meets the client’s specific requirements and expectations. You’ll proofread your work to guarantee it’s free from errors and ensure that transcriptions are polished and easy to read. You’ll manage multiple transcription projects, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining a high standard of work. You’ll assist in the creation of specialized transcriptions for legal, medical, and technical content as required. You’ll be adept at transcribing both clean audio and challenging audio, including varied accents and technical jargon.

Basic Qualifications:

• Identify speakers in multi-person recordings and label dialogue clearly, even in fast-paced or overlapping conversations.
• Use tools like Express Scribe, Otter.ai, Descript, or manual methods to complete transcriptions efficiently and precisely.
• Use foot pedals, noise-canceling headphones, and other tools to improve efficiency and clarity when working with difficult audio.
• Mark unclear audio with timestamps or tags (e.g., [inaudible], [crosstalk]) and follow up when clarification is needed.
• Track hours, rates, or word counts if working freelance—staying on top of invoices and task management.

Preferred:

• Capable of editing and proofreading transcripts before submission.
• Fast and accurate typing skills, ideally 60+ words per minute.
• Can follow style guides such as verbatim or clean-read depending on client requirements.
• Able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
• Can accept feedback and revise transcripts based on reviewer comments or preferences.
