Description:

We’re hiring a Mail Carrier Trainee who’s ready to learn how to deliver mail efficiently, accurately, and with a friendly attitude — rain or shine. You’ll start by learning high-density city routes, using maps and GPS to navigate alleys, apartment blocks, and busy streets efficiently. You’ll be trained to load your delivery bag properly, keeping packages protected and organizing mail by building and floor. You’ll help load mail into bags or vehicles, making sure fragile and high-priority items are placed properly. You’ll drive through a mix of paved and unpaved roads, stopping at mailboxes, gates, or porches to complete deliveries. You’ll support front-desk operations by restocking supplies like stamps, envelopes, and customs declarations. You’ll gain confidence in biking through city traffic, using bike lanes and safe crossing points to stay on route. You’ll learn how to update delivery statuses, log undeliverable items, and notify recipients about missed pickups. You’ll be expected to maintain a courteous and professional attitude with residents, shopkeepers, and colleagues.

Basic Qualifications:

• Collect outgoing mail from homes and drop boxes, ensuring proper postage and handling.
• Sort undeliverable mail and return it to the post office with proper documentation.
• Contribute to a team environment when helping with sorting, rerouting, or training new hires.
• Operate a mail truck, bicycle, or walk route safely while respecting traffic laws and weather conditions.
• Sort and organize mail and packages for your delivery route before leaving the post office.

Preferred:

• Follows safety procedures when operating a delivery vehicle, walking near roads, or lifting packages.
• Understands the responsibility of handling sensitive documents and time-critical deliveries.
• Able to work in a variety of neighborhoods and maintain professionalism with every customer interaction.
• Pays attention to mail delivery sequence and route planning for maximum efficiency.
• Willing to handle basic customer inquiries politely and report any issues to supervisors as needed.
