Description:
We’re seeking a Film Director who can lead projects with vision, discipline, and emotional intelligence — someone who sees film not just as entertainment, but as impact, language, and experience. You’ll lead the creative process from script to screen, shaping tone, visual language, and emotional rhythm throughout production. You’ll work closely with screenwriters, producers, and cinematographers to ensure narrative, pacing, and style are aligned from day one. You’ll direct casting, lead rehearsals, and bring out layered performances that feel honest, surprising, and fully human. You’ll collaborate closely with DPs, editors, designers, and producers to ensure your vision stays consistent at every level of production. We’re looking for a director who brings their own cinematic language — whether poetic, grounded, stylized, or experimental. You’ll be deeply involved in pre-production, including shot lists, mood boards, color palettes, and visual research. You’ll collaborate across departments to balance ambition with feasibility, ensuring each team member feels guided and valued. In post-production, you’ll oversee editing, color grading, sound design, and scoring to ensure everything clicks in rhythm and tone.
Basic Qualifications:
- Collaborate with cinematographers, production designers, and costume teams to build the film’s visual world.
- Supervise post-production by working closely with editors, sound designers, VFX artists, and colorists.
- Review and approve shot lists, storyboards, and schedules before each production day.
- Work under pressure while juggling multiple creative, technical, and interpersonal demands.
- Oversee rehearsals, blocking, and on-set dynamics to ensure a smooth production flow.
Preferred:
- Strong storytelling ability with a clear vision and command over cinematic language, pacing, and tone.
- Able to create a positive set culture that supports collaboration, diversity, and professionalism.
- Familiar with directing across genres such as drama, comedy, documentary, or experimental.
- Passionate about crafting visually striking scenes that serve narrative and character arcs.
- Willing to collaborate with writers, producers, and creative teams from concept to final cut.
Benefits:
- We don’t rush post-production — quality trumps deadlines.
- Your name isn’t buried in credits — it’s the first one they see.
- Opportunities to mentor younger creators, if you’re into that.
- Shoot in locations that excite you — not just convenient parking lots.
- Take breaks between projects to recharge — not jump straight to the next fire.
In post, you’ll collaborate with editors and colorists to refine rhythm, tone, and emotional throughlines. You’ll need to balance creative boldness with logistical awareness, adapting quickly to changing conditions without losing direction. This role requires someone with a sharp cinematic eye and a deep respect for the craft and the team behind it. You should bring a clear visual identity, a passion for performance, and the ability to articulate why each frame matters. Your portfolio should demonstrate a deep understanding of character, emotion, and visual structure. We want someone who lives for that feeling when a scene clicks — when the emotion lands, and you know it’s real. If you believe that great directing is as much about listening as leading — and that the best stories are told through trust — we want to work with you. Come help us craft work that’s not only seen, but remembered, quoted, and felt long after it ends.
