Description:
We’re hiring an Animator Trainee who’s passionate about character performance — someone who studies expressions, body language, and timing, and wants to make every movement feel alive. You’ll assist in creating animations for characters, UI elements, environments, and effects across games, videos, or interactive projects. We’ll teach you the foundations of timing, spacing, and visual rhythm using classic animation principles in a modern workflow. You’ll work with animation blueprints, state machines, and export pipelines for game engines like Unity or Unreal. You’ll assist in building clean keyframes, breakdowns, and in-betweens while keeping a consistent style and energy. You’ll learn how to balance animation length, readability, and reactivity based on gameplay needs. You’ll help animate walk cycles, reaction shots, idle animations, and emotional beats — all with a focus on storytelling. We’ll guide you in organizing your files, naming conventions, and versioning so you work like a professional from day one. You’ll also learn how to animate in constraints, match existing styles, and keep things optimized for performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Contribute to storyboards, animatics, or previsualizations to define timing and flow early.
- Have fun animating—when you love the motion, it shows in every frame.
- Support junior animators or team members by sharing tips, tricks, or feedback.
- Use tools like After Effects, Spine, Blender, Maya, or Unity depending on project needs.
- Work efficiently within tight feedback loops and shifting creative directions.
Preferred:
- Open to giving and receiving feedback in a collaborative, iterative creative process.
- Pays attention to character consistency, emotional nuance, and cinematic flow.
- Enjoys making things come to life through gesture, rhythm, and visual impact.
- Able to balance visual style, performance constraints, and storytelling clarity.
