Description:
We’re hiring a Cook who doesn’t just follow recipes — but understands why each step matters, and takes pride in putting care into every plate. You’ll be responsible for prepping and cooking dishes to spec, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, or anything in between. You’ll help prep simple ingredients like veggies, sauces, and batters, learning the basics as you go. You’ll be part of a team that talks, laughs, and supports each other through the rush and the quiet. Expect to wash dishes, clean your station, and support wherever help is needed — everyone pitches in here. You’ll rotate ingredients, manage inventory basics, and restock fridges or dry storage without needing reminders. You’ll communicate clearly with servers, making sure orders go out hot, accurate, and on time. You’ll help with morning prep or evening close-down depending on your shift, and take responsibility for your tools and space. You’ll take feedback well, ask questions when unsure, and aim to get a little better every week.
Basic Qualifications:
- Work quickly without sacrificing safety, especially when handling knives, fryers, or hot pans.
- Handle kitchen equipment properly and report any malfunctions or hazards immediately.
- Check freshness of ingredients and rotate stock to prevent spoilage or waste.
- Leave the kitchen better than you found it, every single shift.
- Taste and adjust seasoning or texture as needed to maintain quality standards.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of food handling standards, sanitation procedures, and HACCP guidelines.
- Willing to help with mise en place, inventory rotation, and checking for freshness or spoilage.
- Proficient in basic cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, roasting, baking, and frying.
- Team-oriented and able to communicate clearly with kitchen staff, servers, and management.
- Pays strong attention to timing, food safety, and cleanliness during all stages of food preparation.
Benefits:
- Breaks that actually happen — you’re human, not a machine.
- Supportive coworkers who jump in, not judge.
- If you’ve got a signature dish, we want to taste it.
- We rotate stations fairly so you’re not stuck doing the same thing forever.
- Every dish is your canvas — and we notice the details.
Mistakes will happen, and that’s okay — what matters is you learn from them and keep improving. You’ll keep food safety top of mind, from fridge temps to glove use, even when things get busy. You’ll learn the full menu, memorize plating standards, and ask questions when something isn’t clear — because quality starts with clarity. You’ll work closely with the kitchen lead or head chef and be open to feedback, improvement, and new techniques. This role is great for someone who enjoys hands-on work, honest communication, and a steady rhythm. We value cooks who are reliable, humble, and serious about food — no ego, just effort and pride in the plate. Whether you’re prepping breakfast, plating dinner, or handling bulk prep, your work will always matter here. Let’s make honest food, run a clean kitchen, and serve every guest like they’re part of the neighborhood.
