Description:

We’re looking for a highly motivated Lawyer Trainee who’s eager to learn the inner workings of legal practice from the ground up — no prior experience required, just a passion for justice and attention to detail. You’ll support our legal team by conducting research, summarizing statutes, and assisting with document preparation. We’ll teach you how to structure arguments clearly, spot inconsistencies, and maintain precision in legal writing. You’ll participate in reviewing agreements, flagging potential risks, and learning how clauses protect business interests. Expect to help prepare for meetings, court filings, or negotiations by organizing facts and gathering legal precedents. You’ll assist in due diligence, help review transaction documents, and observe how negotiations unfold. We’ll walk you through professional legal writing — from formal letters to structured memos that present strong arguments. You’ll support compliance checks, risk assessments, and see how internal policies align with local laws. We’ll introduce you to legal citation styles, internal procedures, and the basics of litigation preparation.

Basic Qualifications:

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents with precision.
• Prepare cases by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and building strong arguments.
• Respond quickly to urgent legal issues, especially in high-pressure or crisis scenarios.
• Stay updated on legal trends, new legislation, and precedent-setting rulings in your area.
• Handle sensitive or high-stakes matters with confidentiality and sound judgment.

Preferred:

• Familiar with legal databases such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, or local legal portals.
• Wants to grow into roles like Senior Counsel, Legal Advisor, Partner, or In-House Counsel.
• Able to represent clients in court, mediation, arbitration, or regulatory proceedings.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, or legal opinions.
• Organized with time tracking, billing records, and document version control in firm environments.
