Description:
We’re looking for a talented Podcast Editor to join our team and help deliver high-quality audio content for our audience. You’ll be responsible for editing audio recordings, removing unwanted noises, and enhancing sound quality to deliver professional results. You’ll work closely with hosts and producers to refine the audio, enhance storytelling, and maintain a cohesive tone throughout the episodes. You’ll cut and trim audio, remove filler words, and fix any mistakes to ensure the content is clear and easy to listen to. You’ll add music, sound effects, and transitions to bring each episode to life, enhancing the overall listening experience. You’ll incorporate music, sound effects, and transitions to enhance storytelling and make episodes more engaging for listeners. You’ll work with the production team to incorporate feedback and ensure final edits meet the desired vision for the episode. You’ll assist in creating promotional snippets, teasers, or audiograms to promote episodes across social media and other platforms.
Basic Qualifications:
- Create audiograms, teaser clips, or social media snippets from full episodes using tools like Headliner, Descript, or Adobe Audition.
- Edit raw podcast recordings into polished, professional episodes—removing filler words, pauses, background noise, and technical glitches.
- Balance audio levels, apply EQ and compression, and clean up vocals to ensure clarity and consistency across all speakers.
- Provide feedback on recording quality and offer tips to improve future audio (mic technique, room setup, etc.).
- Collaborate asynchronously with remote teams, using tools like Google Drive, Trello, Notion, or Slack to track progress and notes.
Preferred:
- Understands the importance of brand tone, pacing, and audience expectations for each podcast.
- Familiar with audio enhancements such as compression, EQ, and normalization.
- Can add intro/outro music, transitions, sponsor messages, or sound effects as needed.
- Knows how to keep a consistent sound across episodes, seasons, and voice styles.
- Able to write short show notes, timecodes, or summaries if requested.
Benefits:
- We respect your time — realistic deadlines, fair revision policies, and zero last-minute chaos (unless planned).
- We support your growth with training, plugin packs, and gear upgrades if needed.
- We support async workflows — send previews, get feedback, and polish without Zoom marathons.
- You’ll work on real shows — interviews, narratives, solo episodes, trailers — and make them sound incredible.
- We celebrate seamless edits, smart pacing, and transitions you can’t even hear.
You’ll keep the podcast schedule on track, ensuring that episodes are edited and delivered on time for publication. You’ll help create promotional content, including teaser clips and highlights, to promote the podcast on social media and other channels. You’ll ensure that each episode aligns with brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in tone and sound quality throughout the series. You’ll stay up-to-date with industry trends, podcasting software, and new editing techniques to keep improving your skills and the podcast’s quality. You’ll ensure that episodes are ready for distribution, including proper formatting, tagging, and publishing on platforms. You’ll ensure all episodes are uploaded, including proper tagging, descriptions, and metadata for search optimization. This remote role offers flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to the success of a growing podcast. If you’re passionate about audio editing, storytelling, and creating great podcast content, we’d love to have you join our team.
