Description:

We’re offering an Actuary Trainee position for someone who loves working with numbers, patterns, and predictions — no experience needed, just a sharp mind and curiosity about risk management. You’ll work alongside experienced actuaries to assist with forecasting, modeling, and analyzing large sets of financial data. We’ll teach you how to collect, clean, and interpret data to support pricing, forecasting, and decision-making. You’ll help write technical documentation and support teams with spreadsheets, visualizations, and reports. Expect to calculate probabilities, analyze trends, and understand how small shifts in data impact financial outcomes. You’ll use tools like Excel, R, or Python — and we’ll help you ramp up if you’re new to any of them. We’ll guide you through actuarial concepts like mortality tables, discounting, and loss reserving. You’ll assist in creating reports and charts that help stakeholders make informed, risk-aware decisions. We’ll guide you through key actuarial metrics like expected value, standard deviation, and confidence intervals.

Basic Qualifications:

• Use tools like Excel, R, Python, or specialized actuarial software to run forecasts and simulations.
• Stay current on changes in tax laws, insurance regulation, and actuarial standards of practice.
• Support financial reporting, reserve calculations, and solvency assessments for compliance and audits.
• Work with underwriters, product managers, and executives to shape pricing and risk strategies.
• Train or mentor junior actuarial staff and help them prepare for certification exams.

Preferred:

• Willing to validate and test actuarial models for accuracy and robustness.
• Comfortable handling uncertainty, identifying risk drivers, and designing mitigation strategies.
• Able to analyze large data sets and interpret trends for insurance, pensions, or investment decisions.
• Enjoys solving complex quantitative problems with real-world financial impact.
• Willing to assist in preparing reports, presentations, and technical documentation for stakeholders.
