Description:

We’re looking for an Illustrator Trainee who’s ready to turn creativity into a craft — no formal experience required, just artistic instinct, dedication, and a hunger to evolve as a visual storyteller. You’ll work alongside our creative team to support illustration needs for branding, social media, packaging, and storytelling projects. We’ll teach you how to follow style guides, work within design systems, and ensure your illustrations serve both function and story. You’ll assist in creating characters, environments, and decorative elements that reflect tone, audience, and style direction. Expect to learn how to use light, shape, and rhythm to guide a viewer’s eye and deliver emotional clarity. You’ll practice ideation through sketching, refining lines, and using feedback to improve clarity and composition. We’ll support you in exploring different illustration styles — minimal, textured, hand-drawn, flat, or stylized. You’ll gain experience using tools like Illustrator, Procreate, or Figma to organize and deliver professional artwork. You’ll also assist in preparing artwork for handoff — including file naming, sizing, and layer organization.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay inspired and research visual trends, techniques, and artists across cultures and time periods.
• Create original illustrations that bring ideas, stories, or products to life across digital and print formats.
• Refine rough concepts into polished, detailed compositions that serve a clear purpose.
• Participate in creative reviews, brainstorms, and storyboarding when illustrations are part of a larger campaign.
• Incorporate feedback from clients or teams with a positive, solution-focused mindset.

Preferred:

• Experience creating illustrations for books, branding, social media, games, or editorial use.
• Comfortable delivering clean, well-organized files in formats suitable for print and digital publishing.
• Capable of illustrating characters, environments, icons, or conceptual scenes from scratch.
• Familiar with vector and raster workflows, resolution requirements, and file exporting standards.
• Familiar with licensing terms, usage rights, and contracts in freelance or in-house settings.
