Description:

We’re hiring a Plumber Trainee who’s ready to learn hands-on skills, assist experienced professionals, and grow into a reliable, certified tradesperson. You’ll begin by shadowing senior maintenance plumbers in apartment buildings, learning how to diagnose and respond to common household plumbing issues. You’ll help assess situations quickly, shut off valves, and communicate calmly with distressed clients on arrival. You’ll learn how to mark walls and floors for drilling, anchoring, and pipe routing through studs and slabs. You’ll learn how to safely open walls, access crawl spaces, and locate hidden problems using moisture detectors and tools. You’ll learn how to handle tenant requests respectfully and communicate updates to building managers or supervisors. You’ll assist with pipe patching, replacing fittings, and cleaning up work zones in homes, businesses, or apartment buildings. You’ll assist in installing sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and basic filtration systems. You’ll learn how to troubleshoot common issues like leaks, clogs, low water pressure, or noisy pipes.

Basic Qualifications:

• Test plumbing systems for leaks and safety using air or water pressure gauges.
• Keep clients informed about findings, options, and estimated repair costs in simple terms.
• Work in various environments—tight spaces, outdoors, basements—often in challenging conditions.
• Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials like sewage or gas lines.
• Use tools such as pipe cutters, plungers, augers, and inspection cameras with precision.

Preferred:

• Open to using mobile apps, digital invoicing, or plumbing CRM tools for job tracking.
• Licensed or certified plumber with knowledge of local plumbing codes, safety standards, and installation techniques.
• Capable of performing rough-ins, finishing installations, and pressure tests on pipes and fittings.
• Willing to be on-call for emergency services including burst pipes, flooding, or no-water situations.
• Comfortable diagnosing leaks, clogs, pressure issues, and other plumbing malfunctions accurately and efficiently.
