We’re inviting a future educator to join our elementary school classroom as a trainee who’s ready to learn by doing. You’ll start each day with a smile, helping set up the classroom so it’s calm, clean, and ready for learning. You’ll greet students, learn their names, and slowly become a familiar, trusted face they look forward to seeing. You’ll learn to manage energy levels, support different personalities, and adapt when things don’t go as planned — which happens often in education! You’ll sit with small groups to support early readers, answer questions during activities, and celebrate small wins with high fives and encouragement. You’ll learn how to create lesson plans, assess student progress, and adjust teaching methods for different learning styles. You’ll gain insight into how children grow socially and emotionally — not just academically — and how teachers nurture that every day. You’ll practice giving clear instructions, using a calm tone, and adapting your communication to meet different needs. You’ll prepare materials, tidy learning centers, and contribute to decorating the classroom with student work.

Basic Qualifications:

• Tailor support for students with special needs or learning accommodations, working closely with specialists when needed.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to help students grow academically and emotionally.
• Use educational tools and technologies to enhance learning and track progress.
• Model patience, respect, and enthusiasm—your attitude sets the tone for your students.
• Support students’ social and emotional development through empathy, guidance, and positive reinforcement.

Preferred:

• Willing to differentiate instruction to support students with special needs or English language learners.
• Able to manage classroom behavior with consistency, kindness, and positive reinforcement.
• Values patience, consistency, and enthusiasm in the learning environment.
• Keeps up with curriculum standards and best practices in elementary education.
• Willing to supervise recess, lunch, field trips, and extracurricular activities as needed.
