Description:

We’re accepting applicants for a Medical Laboratory Technician internship — ideal for someone who values structure, precision, and a methodical approach to learning. You don’t need to have years of experience — just a careful mindset, a willingness to follow procedures, and a true respect for accuracy. Your primary focus will be learning the correct procedures for sample collection support, labeling, storage, and controlled transfer within the laboratory chain of custody. You’ll assist in handling real patient samples — blood, urine, swabs — and learn the importance of accuracy at every stage. You’ll assist in preparing test panels, organizing workflow, and helping the senior technicians keep everything clean, compliant, and audit-ready. You’ll help doctors make decisions, not by guessing — but by delivering data that’s accurate and timely. You’ll observe proper safety protocols, understand why PPE matters, and build habits that will serve you in every lab from here on out. You’ll be expected to log every step of your workflow, track time precisely, and note anomalies clearly during shadowed procedures. You’ll learn to handle human error, avoid contamination, and recover with confidence when something doesn’t go as planned. Whether you’re running panels, preparing slides, or logging results, you’ll bring the same focus to every task.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Recognize abnormal findings and know when to notify supervising staff for further evaluation or review.
  • Prepare specimens for transport or referral to external labs when specialized testing is required, following chain-of-custody protocols.
  • Handle emergency or STAT samples with urgency, prioritizing workflow to meet clinical needs in time-sensitive situations.
  • Participate in internal audits, external inspections (e.g., CLIA, CAP), and staff training sessions to ensure lab compliance and quality.
  • Verify patient information, test orders, and sample integrity before processing to avoid errors or contamination.

Preferred:

  • Open to continuous training and staying updated with new testing methods and technologies.
  • Familiar with laboratory equipment including centrifuges, microscopes, and automated analyzers.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, or on-call schedules in a 24/7 lab environment.
  • Experience performing routine laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, microbiology, or clinical chemistry.
  • Background in laboratory science, medical technology, or clinical diagnostics.

Benefits:

  • Work in a modern, well-equipped lab where your accuracy directly supports diagnostics and patient care.
  • You’ll finish each shift knowing something important was done well, even if no one else saw it happen.
  • Team rituals include safety huddles, “weirdest specimen of the week,” and lab wins boards that don’t forget the quiet work.
  • Your eye for detail is valued more than speed — this is about quality first, always.
  • We believe lab work is essential, not invisible — and we treat our technicians like the professionals they are.

You’ll help maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure that nothing essential runs out when it matters most. You’ll document with clarity, report with accuracy, and know that lives depend on the numbers you enter. You’ll contribute to internal quality control programs and help your lab stay audit-ready at all times. You’ll attend briefings, observe test batching, and learn how labs manage high sample volumes without compromising traceability. You’ll help keep the lab stocked, the workflow moving, and the results accurate. You may work quietly, but your impact speaks volumes through every result you deliver. You’ll develop a foundational understanding of medical diagnostics — not from theory, but from applied practice and precision. You’ll begin as an observer, but you’re expected to grow into a contributor — someone trusted to perform basic procedures to protocol. If you’re ready to build serious technical habits, work under strict standards, and grow in a professional medical lab setting — we’re ready to train you properly.
