Description:
We’re looking for a Medical Laboratory Technician trainee who’s ready to start a meaningful career by learning how real lab work impacts real lives. You’ll handle blood, tissue, and fluid samples with care, focus, and full responsibility for what comes next. Your primary focus will be learning the correct procedures for sample collection support, labeling, storage, and controlled transfer within the laboratory chain of custody. You’ll process tests efficiently, but never at the expense of quality or precision. You’ll be trained to understand how lab results influence diagnoses, and why getting it right — even behind the scenes — changes everything. You’ll be surrounded by professionals who value your effort and will help you grow into someone they can trust at any bench in the room. You’ll work with pathologists, physicians, and nurses to deliver results that drive real medical decisions. Your workspace will be organized, your records neat, and your attention always where it needs to be. Your job may not involve direct patient contact — but your work will directly affect diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes. You’ll begin to understand how lab values connect to patient symptoms, how flags are reviewed, and when results need a second check.
Basic Qualifications:
- Follow proper biosafety and infection control procedures when handling specimens to ensure a safe laboratory environment.
- Work rotating shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed in hospital or clinical lab settings that operate 24/7.
- Support training of new lab staff or interns by demonstrating procedures and reviewing safety protocols when required.
- Stay calm and focused during high-pressure situations like outbreaks, lab surges, or critical result processing.
- Adhere to detailed protocols to avoid cross-contamination, specimen mislabeling, or diagnostic delays.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of infection control procedures, safety protocols, and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Experience performing routine laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, microbiology, or clinical chemistry.
- Works well independently or under the supervision of a pathologist or senior technologist.
- Comfortable communicating with medical staff regarding specimen status or unusual findings.
- Familiar with common clinical terminology, units of measurement, and normal value ranges.
Benefits:
- Your consistency, clarity, and sterile technique are recognized, not taken for granted.
- You’ll work in a calm, respectful setting where science and care meet.
- We support ongoing training, CE credits, certifications, and conferences — your development is our investment.
- Access to advanced analyzers, LIS systems (like Epic Beaker or SoftLab), and automated tools that reduce repetition and increase accuracy.
- We believe lab work is essential, not invisible — and we treat our technicians like the professionals they are.
We’ll show you how to stay calm on busy days, keep your station tidy, and maintain a mindset of quiet confidence under pressure. You’ll receive feedback, ask lots of questions, and be encouraged to slow down when the task requires it. You’ll contribute to internal quality control programs and help your lab stay audit-ready at all times. You’ll treat patient data with the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism, and care. You’ll start small, but everything you do — every test you touch — plays a role in helping someone get answers they need. You’ll observe how interdisciplinary teams interact, and how lab results integrate with clinical workflows across departments. You’ll develop a foundational understanding of medical diagnostics — not from theory, but from applied practice and precision. You’ll begin as an observer, but you’re expected to grow into a contributor — someone trusted to perform basic procedures to protocol. If you’re ready to build serious technical habits, work under strict standards, and grow in a professional medical lab setting — we’re ready to train you properly.
