Description:

We’re hiring beginner-level Building Maintenance Technicians who want to learn real, hands-on skills that keep buildings running. You don’t need a toolbox or experience — just show up ready to listen, work, and improve every day. Your first days will involve learning how to handle tools, follow safety procedures, and assist experienced techs. Early responsibilities include resetting breakers, replacing light bulbs, and learning how to handle basic tools. You’ll learn how to safely work with electricity, water systems, ventilation units, and even elevators. You’ll discover how heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems work together in real time. You’ll assist in setting up and maintaining maintenance logs, tracking what’s been fixed and what still needs work. We’ll train you to be proactive — knowing when to tighten a bolt or report a weird noise. You’ll learn the difference between quick fixes and long-term solutions — and when to escalate issues to senior techs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Test and maintain emergency systems such as backup generators, exit lighting, and fire extinguishers according to schedule.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies (e.g., power outages, water leaks, security alarms) according to building protocols.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance history and equipment condition for inspections and audits.
• Operate and monitor building systems such as boilers, chillers, fire alarms, and security systems under supervision or per checklist.
• Collaborate with contractors or vendors for larger repairs or upgrades—providing access, supervision, and follow-up as needed.

Preferred:

• Pays close attention to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
• Values reliability, resourcefulness, and technical skill in keeping buildings safe and functional.
• Understands how to read blueprints, equipment manuals, or work orders.
• Able to lift heavy equipment, work on ladders, and complete tasks in tight or elevated spaces.
• Enjoys hands-on problem-solving and completing visible, meaningful repairs.
