Description:

We’re seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Online Research Assistant to support our team with accurate and insightful research. You’ll be responsible for conducting online research on a variety of topics, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and reliable. You’ll track down relevant, credible information, making sure it’s up-to-date and aligned with the team’s needs. You’ll assist in analyzing competitors, tracking market trends, and identifying opportunities for business growth. You’ll organize research findings into reports, presentations, and summaries that are clear, concise, and easy for the team to digest. You’ll assist with competitive analysis, tracking industry shifts, and finding new opportunities for growth and development. You’ll work closely with the team to understand research needs and deliver findings in an organized and accessible manner. You’ll work across a variety of industries and topics, developing expertise in each area to support our diverse needs. You’ll use your analytical skills to identify patterns and trends that can influence strategy and business planning.

Basic Qualifications:

• Communicate findings clearly and professionally—no jargon unless requested.
• Stay focused while digging through blog posts, academic papers, PDFs, and obscure forums—you’re a digital detective.
• Assist in building lead lists, contact sheets, or outreach databases by researching names, roles, and emails from trusted tools.
• Above all, treat every task as a puzzle—your job is to find the best, most useful information and package it clearly.
• Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity when handling private or proprietary research tasks.

Preferred:

• Pays attention to detail and avoids plagiarism by properly paraphrasing or citing sources.
• Understands how to tailor research to client needs, including tone, depth, and relevance.
• Background or interest in communication, journalism, market research, or academia.
• Able to manage time effectively when juggling multiple research tasks or deadlines.
• Able to evaluate the reliability of websites, articles, and statistics before citing them.
