Description:
We’re searching for an Online Community Support specialist who lives and breathes digital connection — someone who knows how to make an online space feel warm, safe, and active. You’ll be the steady, positive presence that keeps our digital spaces running smoothly and feeling human. You’ll monitor discussions, jump in where needed, and make sure the tone of the space stays respectful, inclusive, and on-brand. You’ll monitor activity across platforms like Discord, Slack, Facebook Groups, or our own forums — answering questions, resolving issues, and guiding discussions when they drift off course. You’ll help identify community trends, surface valuable feedback, and work with internal teams to ensure our users' voices are heard. Whether it’s responding to a technical question, managing a lively discussion, or diffusing a tense moment, you’ll do it with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
Basic Qualifications:
- Continuously improve the onboarding experience by testing welcome flows, pinned posts, or intro channels.
- Foster conversations by asking thoughtful questions, sharing updates, and spotlighting community wins.
- Respond to user concerns or frustrations with empathy and clarity, offering help or context where possible.
- Document best practices and tone guidelines for other team members or future community hires.
- Create weekly or monthly community recaps, highlighting key discussions, wins, or areas to improve.
Preferred:
- Open to collaborating with marketing, product, and support teams on community campaigns.
- Understands the balance between freedom of expression and maintaining order.
- Can communicate with users respectfully, even in tense or critical situations.
- Willing to support users across time zones and adapt to an asynchronous environment.
- Knows how to escalate technical or sensitive issues to the right internal team.
Benefits:
- Weekly team check-ins focused on growth, not just metrics.
- You’ll help real people feel heard, supported, and part of something.
- This is not “just social media” — it’s emotional labor that we respect.
- Celebrate good threads, meaningful interactions, and even wholesome memes.
- Access to all the right tools — community platforms, macros, moderation dashboards.
You’ll gather community feedback and pass insights to our internal teams, helping improve our product and support offerings based on what real users are saying. Familiarity with platforms like Discord, Reddit, Facebook Groups, Slack, or community platforms like Circle or Discourse is great — but we’re more interested in your tone, energy, and ability to genuinely connect. You’re a clear communicator, a great listener, and comfortable working remotely with minimal oversight. If you’ve ever made someone feel welcome in a space where they weren’t sure they belonged, this role is for you. Let’s build something kind, useful, and fun — together. Let’s grow a community where people feel seen, safe, and inspired to stay.
