Description:
We’re seeking a Freelance Blog Writer who has a way with words — someone who can turn a simple idea into a story readers actually want to finish. You’re someone who can take a topic (even a boring one) and turn it into something engaging, useful, and maybe even a little fun. You know the difference between writing *at* people and writing *for* them. You’ll work independently but collaborate when needed, asking smart questions and bringing ideas to the table. You’ll be expected to take ownership of assignments from start to finish — researching, outlining, drafting, and refining with minimal supervision. You’re used to working remotely and independently, managing deadlines with ease and communicating clearly when you need support or direction. You’ll be responsible for turning in clean, SEO-friendly copy on deadline, with internal links, smart formatting, and a strong sense of flow.
Basic Qualifications:
- Work with content managers to align on goals, outlines, and formatting preferences before writing begins.
- Respect client confidentiality and follow brand guidelines, style guides, and tone requirements.
- Optimize posts for readability and SEO—using proper headings, meta descriptions, internal links, and keywords.
- Keep an organized archive of drafts, revisions, and published links for easy reference.
- Track content performance (when available) and use insights to improve future pieces.
Preferred:
- Excited about freelancing flexibility while maintaining professionalism and quality.
- Experience using writing tools like Grammarly, Hemingway, or Notion.
- Comfortable using Google Docs or CMS platforms like WordPress or Ghost.
- Interested in content marketing and how blog posts support brand visibility.
- Understands the difference between informative, persuasive, and storytelling content.
Benefits:
- We celebrate great intros, clever transitions, and endings that stick.
- Write from anywhere — home, coffee shop, or hammock, your words are what matter.
- We provide briefs that make sense — not five vague bullet points and a deadline.
- Content calendars are collaborative — your ideas get greenlit.
- We share results — if your post drives traffic, you’ll know it.
You take pride in the details — not just grammar and formatting, but how a headline lands or whether a reader clicks the CTA at the end. You’re comfortable using tools like Google Docs, Grammarly, Notion, or even WordPress, and you’re not intimidated by CMS platforms. If you’re the kind of writer who notices typos in menus, rewrites headlines in your head, and feels weirdly proud when someone says “I really liked your post,” you’ll fit right in. Even better. You treat freelance writing like a profession, not a side hustle — and you take pride in building content that brings real value to the reader. Let’s make blog content that actually matters. Let’s create blog content that informs, inspires, and actually gets read.
