Description:
We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist for our mall-based service kiosk — ideal for someone who’s fast, friendly, and ready to restore footwear in a high-traffic setting. You’ll handle walk-in repairs from customers looking for quick fixes, custom upgrades, and same-day results. You’ll assist in restoring fine leather, suede, patent, and exotic skins using brand-appropriate techniques and restoration products. You’ll assist in custom sole work for running shoes, walking shoes, and orthopedic models to improve balance and wear patterns. You’ll help restore torn lining, busted eyelets, broken laces, and crushed counters with durability in mind. You’ll learn to clean, deodorize, and revitalize sneakers using brush techniques, steam tools, and sneaker-safe cleaning agents. You’ll operate grinders, finishers, hand tools, and glue presses with speed, precision, and proper safety. You’ll assist with protective sole installation, adhesive repairs, and preventive treatments using travel-safe materials. You’ll track common damage patterns for runners, skaters, and active clients — helping prevent future issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Handle high-volume or urgent repairs calmly and efficiently.
- Repair and restore footwear by replacing soles, heels, zippers, and worn-out parts using specialized tools.
- Perform quality control checks before returning items to ensure satisfaction.
- Offer additional services like belt shortening, bag stitching, or leather care when appropriate.
- Work with a variety of materials, including leather, rubber, canvas, and synthetics.
Preferred:
- Background or strong interest in shoemaking, leatherwork, tailoring, or fine craftsmanship.
- Able to handle a high volume of repairs while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail.
- Understands how to match replacement parts like soles, laces, and eyelets to maintain the original shoe design.
- Thrives in quiet, skill-focused environments where patience and technique make a difference.
- Familiar with waterproofing treatments, custom dyeing, and professional polishing techniques.
Benefits:
- You’ll help clients maintain their favorite shoes — and the gratitude they show is always rewarding.
- Paid time off and holidays — we care about your personal time and well-being.
- Recognition for your craftsmanship — each pair of shoes is a testament to your skill.
- The opportunity to work with a variety of materials — leather, suede, fabric, and more.
- You’ll be appreciated for your work — a good repair job doesn’t go unnoticed.
You’ll interact with clients respectfully, respecting their space and maintaining a clean, efficient presence during service. You’ll support inventory restocking, label printing, and service pricing updates as needed for smooth operations. You’ll be expected to stay current on popular silhouettes, new release models, and the best repair methods for each. You’ll assist with light repairs of belts, bags, and zippers as part of premium mobile accessory care services. You’ll receive mentorship from experienced cobblers who value patience, quality, and reputation. You’ll learn how to prioritize orders, meet deadlines, and stay productive without sacrificing detail. Prior experience with leatherwork or fashion repair is a plus, but passion for excellence matters most. If you’re ready to handle shoes worth thousands with hands that treat them like art, we’re ready to teach you the craft behind the luxury.
