Description:
We’re seeking a Film Director who can lead projects with vision, discipline, and emotional intelligence — someone who sees film not just as entertainment, but as impact, language, and experience. You’ll be the creative force behind our productions, responsible for translating scripts into compelling visual journeys across genres and formats. From the first read to the final cut, you’ll shape the tone, rhythm, and depth of each story with precision and heart. You’ll lead casting sessions, direct actors with nuance, and bring out performances that feel authentic and layered. You’ll work closely with DPs and production designers to craft a distinct visual style that enhances the narrative without overpowering it. You’ll actively participate in pre-production, including location scouting, casting, visual referencing, and scheduling. We’ll rely on your leadership during shooting — keeping energy high, focus tight, and quality uncompromised. You’ll be responsible for managing rehearsals, communicating the emotional beats of each scene, and adapting quickly when things shift in the moment. In post-production, you’ll oversee editing, color grading, sound design, and scoring to ensure everything clicks in rhythm and tone.
Basic Qualifications:
- Oversee rehearsals, blocking, and on-set dynamics to ensure a smooth production flow.
- Represent the film at festivals, press events, and in promotional interviews when needed.
- Give constructive, respectful direction to both cast and crew to get the best results.
- Work under pressure while juggling multiple creative, technical, and interpersonal demands.
- Translate a script or concept into a compelling visual story with clear artistic vision.
Preferred:
- Knowledgeable about permits, set safety, union rules, and scheduling tools in film production.
- Pays attention to casting, performance direction, and building authentic on-screen chemistry.
- Strong storytelling ability with a clear vision and command over cinematic language, pacing, and tone.
- Enjoys guiding teams toward a unified creative vision from concept to screen.
- Familiar with directing across genres such as drama, comedy, documentary, or experimental.
Benefits:
- We don’t rush post-production — quality trumps deadlines.
- Your name isn’t buried in credits — it’s the first one they see.
- We protect your creative space — no last-minute “client notes” unless essential.
- Flexible shooting schedules — we prioritize sanity over burnout.
- We celebrate flops that dared more than “safe” wins.
You’ll be involved in crafting trailers, festival submissions, and release strategies that preserve the soul of the film. This role requires balancing artistic intent with schedule, budget, and on-the-ground logistics. We value directors who come prepared, communicate directly, and know how to make decisions under pressure. You’ll be directing across genres — narrative, branded, and possibly episodic — so versatility is key. You’ll work with producers to balance budget, schedule, and ambition without compromising emotional or artistic impact. We value directors who communicate well under pressure, stay grounded, and make everyone on set feel seen and supported. If you believe a great director sees not just what’s in the frame, but what it feels like — we’d love to see what you’ll create with us. Let’s tell stories that resonate, surprise, and stay with people long after the screen goes dark.
