We’re hiring a Baker Trainee to join our cozy café team — perfect for someone who loves the smell of fresh pastry and wants to help create baked goods that people enjoy every morning. You’ll begin by supporting early morning prep — scaling ingredients, cracking eggs, and measuring flour to precise specifications. You’ll assist with scaling ingredients in bulk using digital batching systems, silos, and industrial mixers. You’ll be trained to shape loaves, rolls, and boules with consistency, following production schedules and house recipes. You’ll rotate between tasks like mixing, baking, glazing, and plating — seeing the full process from start to finish. You’ll support the mixing, shaping, and finishing of baked goods that meet strict dietary and safety guidelines. You’ll assist with scoring, steam control, and final touches that bring each loaf to life. You’ll assist in maintaining a clean, allergen-controlled workspace and logging batches to track consistency and safety. You’ll learn how to prep café-style treats like banana bread, cinnamon rolls, and lemon bars that match the mood of the space.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ensure all items meet consistent taste, texture, and appearance standards.
• Participate in menu planning or product development when new ideas are welcomed.
• Decorate finished goods with glazes, icings, or toppings depending on style and customer preferences.
• Log batches, waste, or recipe notes for future reference or quality tracking.
• Take initiative to prep ahead, restock ingredients, or support team members.

Preferred:

• Team-oriented and able to collaborate with pastry chefs, decorators, or kitchen staff.
• Background or passion in baking, culinary arts, food production, or pastry design.
• Willing to assist with early morning or overnight baking shifts depending on production schedules.
• Able to clean equipment, follow closing procedures, and prep for the next day’s production.
• Able to organize prep lists, rotate stock, and manage inventory for ingredients and baked goods.
