Description:

We’re hiring a CNC Machine Operator Trainee for our smart production floor — where automation, precision, and continuous improvement work hand in hand. You’ll work alongside experienced machinists who will teach you how to run high-precision equipment safely, efficiently, and with pride in every part you help produce. You’ll be introduced to CNC machines that run with sensors, digital dashboards, tool-life monitoring, and built-in quality alerts — and we’ll show you how it all works. You’ll be shown how to load raw material, align fixtures, and use proper torque — because the foundation is everything in machining. You’ll learn how to read tolerances, measure finished parts with calipers and micrometers, and know when something is slightly off before it becomes a defect. You’ll inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and visual checks to ensure everything is within tolerance. You’ll assist in preparing tools, changing inserts, cleaning chips, and keeping the work area safe, tidy, and ready for production. You’ll get comfortable navigating CNC control panels — not just pushing buttons, but understanding what each one does and why. You’ll measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, and double-check your numbers before moving forward.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and work instructions to understand specifications and machining sequences.
  • Participate in shift handovers by communicating machine status, tool usage, and production priorities to incoming teams.
  • Use CNC software and machine controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Mazak) to input programs and verify execution.
  • Adjust machine settings, tool offsets, or cutting speeds as needed to optimize efficiency and maintain tolerances.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or CMM equipment to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards.

Preferred:

  • Comfortable reporting production issues, defects, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Enjoys working with complex machines and improving efficiency on the shop floor.
  • Can adjust feed rates, spindle speeds, or tool paths to improve part quality or reduce cycle time.
  • Able to follow job orders and production schedules with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knows how to enter or modify G-code and understands CNC programming basics.

Benefits:

  • Stable full-time work with zero guesswork — we believe in reliable schedules.
  • Your input matters — if something’s off, we fix it, not ignore it.
  • You won’t just push buttons — you'll understand what the machine does.
  • Team lunches, tool upgrade votes, and music on the floor (within reason).
  • No toxic culture, just solid people who know their craft.

You’ll learn the value of uptime, the cost of bad offsets, and how even small mistakes in automation can multiply fast if not caught early. You’ll follow a routine that rewards consistency, patience, and staying one step ahead of the process. You’ll help maintain machines that require tight alignment, fine-tuned balancing, and daily checks to stay production-ready. ” You’ll grow at your own pace, with patient instruction, honest feedback, and respect for the process — not just the product. You’ll discover that this is more than a factory job — it’s a craft, and you’re learning to think in thousandths of an inch. You’ll discover that great CNC work isn’t about pushing “start” — it’s about understanding what happens after you do. You’ll finish this internship with real hands-on skill, industry vocabulary, and a clear sense of whether this path is truly yours. If you’re curious, careful, and ready to grow in a place where craftsmanship meets technology — we’re ready to train you. ” If you value quiet focus, technical skill, and the satisfaction of solo work done well — we’re ready to train you after dark.
