Description:

We’re seeking a Junior Backend Developer to join our team and help create scalable and efficient backend systems for web applications. You’ll work with senior developers to design and implement robust backend systems that support our web applications and services. You’ll write clean, efficient code using backend technologies such as Node. js, Python, or Ruby. You’ll help integrate databases, ensuring data is stored and retrieved securely and efficiently with minimal latency. You’ll be responsible for helping design and implement APIs that allow communication between the backend and frontend systems. You’ll collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend services. You’ll work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure to deploy applications and manage server environments. You’ll help ensure the security of our applications, including data protection, authentication, and authorization.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ask questions and seek mentorship when stuck—backend development can be complex, but learning fast matters more than knowing everything.
• Stay up to date with new backend tools, frameworks, and best practices to sharpen your skills over time.
• Monitor logs and system metrics to help identify performance bottlenecks, errors, or unusual behavior.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining dev environments, local servers, and containerized systems like Docker.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code that connects frontend requests to backend logic reliably and securely.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working with server-side logic, authentication, and routing.
• Understands the concept of middleware, request/response lifecycle, and HTTP status codes.
• Familiar with environment variables, .env files, and basic security best practices.
• Proficient in at least one backend language such as Node.js, Python, Java, or PHP.
• Familiar with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and how to write simple SQL queries.
