Description:

We’re looking for a Gardener / Landscaper Trainee who wants to work with the earth, learn by doing, and make outdoor spaces come alive. No experience? You’ll begin by supporting the team with simple tasks like pulling weeds, watering new plants, and clearing debris. We’ll show you how to care for native plants, support pollinators, and use sustainable gardening practices. You’ll learn how to care for lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees in all kinds of weather and soil conditions. Each day you’ll see how small details — like clean edges or evenly spaced plants — make a huge visual difference. You’ll discover how to create clean edges along sidewalks, lay out beds in patterns, and help with small landscaping builds. We’ll show you how to shape flower beds, edge lawns, and make small spaces feel neat and intentional. You’ll assist with planting trees, building borders, and sometimes even installing irrigation systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay informed about regional plants, watering needs, and sustainable landscaping practices suitable for climate and soil.
• Provide input on design improvements or efficiency upgrades that could improve visual appeal or lower maintenance.
• Follow all safety protocols when using ladders, chemicals, or power equipment in outdoor conditions.
• Trim trees, remove dead branches, and support proper tree structure using appropriate pruning methods.
• Read and follow site plans, blueprints, or garden designs to install and maintain landscapes accurately.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working in teams or independently depending on project scope.
• Thrives in nature-focused, physically active, and seasonally dynamic environments.
• Able to safely operate landscaping tools and machinery such as lawn mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, or leaf blowers.
• Willing to learn about eco-friendly practices, native plants, and sustainable landscaping design.
• Willing to assist with hardscaping tasks such as laying stones, borders, or light pathway construction.
