Description:

We’re accepting applicants for a Medical Laboratory Technician internship — ideal for someone who values structure, precision, and a methodical approach to learning. You’ll handle patient specimens with care, consistency, and full awareness of the responsibility in your hands. Your primary focus will be learning the correct procedures for sample collection support, labeling, storage, and controlled transfer within the laboratory chain of custody. You’ll process tests efficiently, but never at the expense of quality or precision. You know that behind every label is a real person waiting on results, and that’s why you never cut corners. You’ll help doctors make decisions, not by guessing — but by delivering data that’s accurate and timely. You’ll check your work twice, catch what others miss, and raise a hand when something feels off. You’ll be expected to log every step of your workflow, track time precisely, and note anomalies clearly during shadowed procedures. You’ll learn to handle human error, avoid contamination, and recover with confidence when something doesn’t go as planned. You’ll ensure that every label matches, every control passes, and every abnormal flag is reviewed properly.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Record and report test results accurately into laboratory information systems (LIS), ensuring timely delivery to physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Work rotating shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed in hospital or clinical lab settings that operate 24/7.
  • Help track and manage inventory of lab supplies and reagents—restocking or alerting supervisors when levels run low.
  • Adhere to detailed protocols to avoid cross-contamination, specimen mislabeling, or diagnostic delays.
  • Prepare specimens for transport or referral to external labs when specialized testing is required, following chain-of-custody protocols.

Preferred:

  • Familiar with common clinical terminology, units of measurement, and normal value ranges.
  • Comfortable working with lab information systems (LIS) and accurately recording test results.
  • Thrives in clean, structured, and safety-focused healthcare environments.
  • Works well independently or under the supervision of a pathologist or senior technologist.
  • Pays close attention to accuracy, repeatability, and turnaround time when conducting tests.

Benefits:

  • You’ll collaborate with doctors, pathologists, nurses, and lab peers — your work is part of a wider care chain.
  • Your eye for detail is valued more than speed — this is about quality first, always.
  • We maintain strict safety protocols, consistent scheduling, and real-time communication — your time and health matter.
  • Your consistency, clarity, and sterile technique are recognized, not taken for granted.
  • Access to advanced analyzers, LIS systems (like Epic Beaker or SoftLab), and automated tools that reduce repetition and increase accuracy.

You’ll learn how to verify identifiers, follow barcode systems, and prevent data loss or sample confusion at every stage. You’ll support preparation of reagents, cleaning of equipment, and maintenance of lab cleanliness to minimize contamination risk. You’ll contribute to internal quality control programs and help your lab stay audit-ready at all times. You’ll treat patient data with the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism, and care. You’ll gain respect not by knowing everything, but by showing up ready to improve, ask, repeat, and get it right. You’ll leave each shift knowing you contributed to something bigger, even if you never saw the patient face-to-face. If you care deeply about doing things right — even when no one’s watching — you’ll fit right in with us. You’ll begin as an observer, but you’re expected to grow into a contributor — someone trusted to perform basic procedures to protocol. If you’re ready to build serious technical habits, work under strict standards, and grow in a professional medical lab setting — we’re ready to train you properly.
