Description:

We’re hiring a Public Relations Trainee who’s excited to learn how to manage brand image, engage with media, and tell stories that connect — no experience required, just a love for language and a sharp sense of timing. You’ll assist in crafting press materials, preparing Q&A briefs, and curating media contact lists for outreach. We’ll teach you how to build and maintain press lists, track earned coverage, and report on campaign performance. You’ll help organize interviews, support event planning, and learn how to represent a brand’s voice across different channels. Expect to participate in real campaigns, from product launches to reputation management efforts. You’ll learn how to write for different formats: newsrooms, blogs, emails, and even Instagram captions — each with their own voice. We’ll show you how to handle both positive PR and sensitive communication moments with professionalism and care. You’ll assist in compiling media coverage, creating recap reports, and evaluating PR success with clear metrics. You’ll be included in team discussions about positioning, timing, and media angles that spark coverage.

Basic Qualifications:

• Maintain a media contact list and update it regularly to reflect current relationships.
• Ensure all public messaging is clear, respectful, and in alignment with brand reputation.
• Stay up to date with media law, ethics, and best practices in public communication.
• Manage crisis communications by staying calm, strategic, and two steps ahead.
• Write FAQs, talking points, and internal comms to support consistent messaging during sensitive situations.

Preferred:

• Pays attention to tone, consistency, and brand guidelines across all public communication.
• Comfortable collaborating with marketing, legal, HR, or executive teams on cross-functional initiatives.
• Can prepare communication briefs and debriefs for post-campaign evaluation.
• Organized in managing editorial calendars, campaign timelines, and approval workflows.
• Willing to assist with community engagement, partnership coordination, or thought leadership content.

We’ll walk you through tools like Meltwater, Muck Rack, or Cision to help track and optimize your outreach. You’ll assist in compiling media reports, tracking sentiment, and analyzing what’s working and what’s not. You’ll also help monitor competitors and stay up-to-date with industry trends, public sentiment, and PR best practices. You’ll strengthen your writing, research, and presentation skills while being mentored by experienced PR professionals. You’ll practice writing for different tones, audiences, and platforms — from press to Twitter to LinkedIn. We’ll mentor you on how to speak with clarity, write with impact, and present with confidence. By the end of your traineeship, you’ll have hands-on experience with real campaigns and growing media relationships.
