Description:
We’re hiring a Tailor Trainee — no experience needed, just steady hands, attention to detail, and a desire to learn the craft. No experience? In your first days, you’ll help with simple alterations — fixing zippers, shortening sleeves, and adjusting hems. You’ll learn how different materials behave — from cotton and wool to silk and synthetics. You’ll be trained in both hand stitching and machine sewing, always with close supervision and guidance. You’ll observe experienced tailors as they work on suits, dresses, uniforms, and more — and slowly begin to try it yourself. You’ll be trained by master tailors who will guide you through techniques that take years to perfect. Every day you’ll improve — stitching straighter, handling fabric better, and moving with more confidence. We’ll teach you how to handle client garments with care, from luxury suits to delicate dresses.
Basic Qualifications:
- Train apprentices or assistants on stitching, fitting, and finishing techniques when applicable.
- Shorten, lengthen, taper, or let out garments based on client requests or seasonal trends.
- Maintain professional communication with clients regarding fitting appointments, pickup times, and alteration recommendations.
- Consult with clients to understand their preferences, style, and fit needs—providing expert advice on tailoring options and fabric behavior.
- Ultimately, craft clothes that feel personal, fit flawlessly, and bring confidence to every client who wears them.
Preferred:
- Organized with workstations, thread and fabric inventory, and client orders.
- Knows how to use pressing tools like steam irons and mannequins to finish garments properly.
- Able to take accurate body measurements and translate them into well-fitted garments.
- Can maintain tailoring equipment and perform basic machine upkeep when necessary.
- Familiar with different stitching techniques, patterns, and finishing methods for a clean, professional look.
Benefits:
- Your ideas matter — want to try a new style or cut? Let’s sketch it.
- Ongoing training and skill upgrades — learn embroidery, patternmaking, or design.
- Fair, steady pay — no guessing, no last-minute changes.
- We value quality, not just speed — take pride in your work.
- Celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and a well-finished hem.
This job rewards patience — it’s about getting the little things right, not rushing through them. You’ll learn why tailors press seams a certain way, why stitches must be straight, and how balance affects fit. This is not fast fashion — it’s slow, precise work that builds lasting skill and quiet pride. You’ll learn to trust the process — measurements, fittings, adjustments — until a garment fits just right. Your workspace will become your learning lab — every fabric, tool, and client brings a chance to grow. You’ll earn respect not by speed, but by care, focus, and the pride you put into each stitch. By the end of your training, you’ll have real skills, a trained eye, and a path forward in a respected trade. If you’re ready to learn something real, lasting, and deeply human — we’ll teach you, one stitch at a time. If you're ready to build a skill you can use for life — and maybe even turn it into a career — we’ll help you start from zero.
