Description:
We’re hiring a diligent Game Tester to join our team and help ensure our games meet the highest quality standards before release. You’ll be responsible for testing game features, gameplay mechanics, and other elements to identify issues that affect player experience. You’ll collaborate with developers to document and track bugs, providing clear and actionable reports to resolve issues efficiently. You’ll collaborate closely with the development team to report and track bugs, assisting in troubleshooting and prioritizing fixes. You’ll assist in creating test plans, test cases, and scripts to ensure the game functions as intended in all scenarios. You’ll be tasked with verifying fixes and updates, making sure new features are working correctly and do not introduce new problems. You’ll work with different testing tools to simulate various conditions, including network problems, performance issues, and hardware limitations. You’ll identify and track issues related to crashes, freezes, and other serious bugs that disrupt gameplay.
Basic Qualifications:
- Play games from a user-first mindset, but test like a detective—curious, methodical, and thorough.
- Follow confidentiality agreements and handle unreleased content securely, especially for AAA or NDA-bound titles.
- Ultimately, help ship high-quality games by ensuring they work, feel good, and don’t crash right before the final boss.
- Participate in daily stand-ups or QA syncs to share findings, updates, and blockers with the wider team.
- Test under different hardware conditions, settings, resolutions, and network environments to identify performance bottlenecks or compatibility issues.
Preferred:
- Able to play for long periods with focus and provide constructive feedback.
- Understands basic testing terminology like test cases, repro steps, and bug severity.
- Background or strong interest in game development, QA, or digital product testing.
- Familiar with different game genres and understands player expectations for each.
- Understands how to provide both subjective feedback and objective testing data.
Benefits:
- We celebrate curiosity, precision, and a healthy obsession with getting things right.
- Flexible hours — test levels, break mechanics, and log bugs when you’re most focused (or most curious).
- We respect testers — you’re not button mashers, you’re the last line of quality control.
- We provide testing builds, bug tracking tools, and clear checklists — but your instincts are the secret weapon.
- We don’t crunch you — testing is scheduled with breathing room, not panic.
You’ll provide feedback on game difficulty, pacing, and balance, helping to refine gameplay for an optimal experience. You’ll be responsible for executing test plans, identifying edge cases, and ensuring that all potential gameplay scenarios are covered. You’ll participate in playtests and provide valuable input on the overall user experience and enjoyment of the game. You’ll work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to help refine the game and enhance the overall experience. You’ll participate in user acceptance testing, ensuring the game’s final product aligns with the expectations of its target audience. You’ll stay up-to-date with industry trends, gaming technologies, and testing best practices to continuously improve the testing process. This remote role offers flexibility, allowing you to test games from the comfort of your own home while making an impact on game development. If you’re passionate about gaming and quality assurance, we’d love to have you on our team to help shape the future of gaming.
