Description:

We’re hiring an Actuary Trainee who’s passionate about numbers, risk, and turning data into real-world decisions — no experience required, just strong math skills and a curious, analytical mind. You’ll work alongside experienced actuaries to assist with forecasting, modeling, and analyzing large sets of financial data. We’ll teach you how to build models that simulate future events like claims, investment returns, or demographic shifts. You’ll learn to use industry-standard tools and spreadsheets to simulate future scenarios and analyze risk exposure. Expect to explore how assumptions about age, health, behavior, and economy affect insurance pricing or pension planning. You’ll learn about reserves, premiums, and solvency — and how actuaries help companies stay financially prepared. We’ll guide you through actuarial concepts like mortality tables, discounting, and loss reserving. You’ll sit in on meetings where risk is discussed not just mathematically, but as business impact. We’ll introduce you to stochastic methods, credibility theory, and the building blocks of solvency calculations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Support financial reporting, reserve calculations, and solvency assessments for compliance and audits.
  • Communicate uncertainty, confidence intervals, and model limitations honestly and effectively.
  • Build and maintain actuarial models that predict outcomes for insurance, finance, or pension products.
  • Communicate complex probabilities and financial projections in plain language to stakeholders.
  • Update models regularly based on regulatory changes, emerging data, or shifts in market behavior.

Preferred:

  • Background or strong interest in actuarial science, economics, risk management, or applied statistics.
  • Familiar with concepts like mortality tables, loss ratios, claim development, and reinsurance.
  • Progress toward actuarial credentials (e.g., SOA, CAS, IFoA) with exams passed or in progress.
  • Wants to grow into roles like Associate Actuary, Pricing Analyst, or Risk Consultant.
  • Experience working with actuarial software, spreadsheets, or programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL.

Benefits:

  • If you love probability, logic, and making complex things make sense — you’ll fit right in.
  • Regular actuarial roundtables, idea shares, and “let’s nerf this assumption” debates.
  • No vague gut decisions here — your numbers drive strategy, policy, and pricing.
  • Clear growth path — analyst → associate → senior → partner (with zero office politics).
  • We don’t expect miracles, but we *do* value precision, integrity, and models that hold up under pressure.

You’ll also assist in risk reporting and learn how to interpret the results of your own models accurately. We’ll show you how actuaries explain complex outputs to non-technical teams and ensure transparency in communication. You’ll get real-world exposure to how risk is measured, reported, and mitigated across industries. You’ll work in a collaborative team that values questions, ideas, and continuous learning. We’ll provide mentorship, access to technical resources, and the chance to ask “why” at every step. This is perfect for someone who enjoys math, logic, and finding patterns in data that others miss. By the end of your traineeship, you’ll be able to contribute meaningfully to actuarial projects and communicate your insights. If you’re ready to apply math in a way that matters — and make sense of uncertainty — we’re ready to train you.
