Description:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Transcriptionist to join our team and transcribe audio and video files into written documents. You’ll be responsible for transcribing audio and video recordings, including interviews, focus groups, podcasts, and webinars. You’ll work with different formats and platforms, transcribing content such as interviews, podcasts, lectures, and corporate meetings. You’ll ensure your transcriptions meet company standards, including accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and adherence to formatting guidelines. You’ll proofread your work to guarantee it’s free from errors and ensure that transcriptions are polished and easy to read. You’ll handle sensitive and confidential materials with discretion and follow strict confidentiality protocols. You’ll be expected to work independently and handle confidential information with care, adhering to confidentiality guidelines. Basic Qualifications:

• Mark unclear audio with timestamps or tags (e.g., [inaudible], [crosstalk]) and follow up when clarification is needed.
• Stay current with transcription tools, keyboard shortcuts, and productivity techniques to increase output without losing accuracy.
• Track hours, rates, or word counts if working freelance—staying on top of invoices and task management.
• Continuously improve grammar, formatting, and typing skills to boost speed and polish.
• Work independently in a remote setting—balancing focus, typing speed, and attention to detail under minimal supervision.

Preferred:

• Able to distinguish between multiple speakers and add appropriate labels or timestamps.
• Values precision, reliability, and consistency in their work.
• Can transcribe in English fluently; other language skills are a bonus.
• Capable of editing and proofreading transcripts before submission.
• Fast and accurate typing skills, ideally 60+ words per minute.
