Description:

We’re hiring a talented Podcast Editor to join our team and help create high-quality, engaging audio content for our podcast. You’ll be responsible for editing raw podcast recordings, ensuring they are clear, polished, and engaging for our audience. You’ll collaborate with podcast hosts and producers to ensure the final product meets the vision and tone of each episode. You’ll work with raw audio files to eliminate background noise, adjust volumes, and correct any technical issues. You’ll work with audio editing tools to improve pacing, remove filler words, and adjust volume levels for clarity and consistency. You’ll ensure that all podcast episodes are well-paced, removing filler words and unnecessary segments to keep the content flowing. You’ll help improve the overall audio production process, suggesting new techniques, tools, or workflows to increase efficiency. You’ll assist in the creation of promotional audio clips and highlights to promote podcast episodes across various platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

• Meet deadlines reliably, especially for weekly or time-sensitive episodes tied to events or releases.
• Edit raw podcast recordings into polished, professional episodes—removing filler words, pauses, background noise, and technical glitches.
• Organize and label audio files clearly, delivering final episodes in the required format (e.g., MP3, WAV) and bitrate for hosting platforms.
• Adjust editing based on guest dynamics, content type (interview vs. solo), and intended audience.
• Write or edit basic show notes, timestamps, and episode titles that reflect key takeaways and improve discoverability.

Preferred:

• Wants to grow into roles like Senior Audio Editor, Podcast Producer, or Creative Director.
• Can export episodes in proper formats and optimize for platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube.
• Values clarity, warmth, and emotional impact in audio experiences.
• Able to write short show notes, timecodes, or summaries if requested.
• Able to sync multi-track recordings and balance guest and host audio levels.
