Description:

We’re hiring a talented Podcast Editor to join our team and help create high-quality, engaging audio content for our podcast. You’ll be responsible for editing podcast episodes, improving audio quality, and ensuring each episode is ready for publication. You’ll collaborate with podcast hosts and producers to understand the desired tone, pacing, and style for each episode. You’ll clean up audio files, remove background noise, and adjust levels to ensure the best possible sound quality for each episode. You’ll add music, sound effects, and transitions to bring each episode to life, enhancing the overall listening experience. You’ll incorporate music, sound effects, and transitions to enhance storytelling and make episodes more engaging for listeners. You’ll work with the production team to incorporate feedback and ensure final edits meet the desired vision for the episode. You’ll ensure that each podcast episode aligns with the brand’s voice and messaging while maintaining high audio standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• Organize and label audio files clearly, delivering final episodes in the required format (e.g., MP3, WAV) and bitrate for hosting platforms.
• Support upload and publishing workflows—uploading to platforms like Libsyn, Anchor, Buzzsprout, or a custom CMS.
• Edit raw podcast recordings into polished, professional episodes—removing filler words, pauses, background noise, and technical glitches.
• Balance audio levels, apply EQ and compression, and clean up vocals to ensure clarity and consistency across all speakers.
• Keep up with trends in podcast production, editing software, audio storytelling, and monetization strategies.

Preferred:

• Can add intro/outro music, transitions, sponsor messages, or sound effects as needed.
• Open to batch editing multiple episodes ahead of publishing schedule.
• Familiar with podcast publishing tools like Anchor, Libsyn, Buzzsprout, or RSS management.
• Capable of handling fast turnarounds when needed without sacrificing quality.
• Background or interest in audio production, storytelling, radio, or media.

You’ll ensure that episodes are ready for distribution, including proper formatting, tagging, and publishing on platforms. You’ll ensure a seamless editing process, from the initial raw file to the final uploaded episode, optimizing for quality and efficiency. This remote position offers flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere while creating high-quality podcast content.
