Description:
We’re looking for Paramedic Dispatcher Trainees who may not have experience, but have the heart to help and the voice to stay calm. You’ll learn how to operate advanced dispatch software, radio systems, GPS tracking, and real-time resource mapping. We’ll show you how to stay calm when others are panicking and guide them with clarity and care. We’ll train you on how to quickly gather details, code the situation correctly, and deploy medical units without delay. You’ll learn to track ambulances in real time, prioritize incoming calls, and dispatch units with speed and precision. You’ll learn to use systems at your own pace, gaining confidence with every scenario and simulated emergency. You’ll be trained to stay focused when others are crying, screaming, or unable to explain what’s happening. We’ll show you how to breathe through panic, speak with compassion, and keep your thoughts clear when lives are at stake. We’ll teach you how to debrief, reset, and prepare for the next call, even when the last one shook you.
Basic Qualifications:
- Reassure panicked or distressed callers and keep them on the line when necessary.
- Use empathy and clear language to talk with children, elderly callers, or those in shock.
- Support paramedics with info like access codes, hazards, or language barriers.
- Stay informed on unit locations, road closures, and hospital capacity changes.
- Use dispatch software, radio systems, and maps to route ambulances efficiently.
Preferred:
- Capable of staying calm, focused, and empathetic under high-stress or life-threatening situations.
- Committed to continuous performance review and improving response efficiency.
- Works well as part of a response team and communicates clearly during handovers or transitions.
- Open to ongoing training in emergency medical dispatch (EMD), CPR instruction, and communication skills.
- Thrives in roles where clear thinking and fast action can directly save lives.
Benefits:
- Team culture built on trust, laughter, and “we’re in this together” energy.
- No dress code stress — come in uniform or casual, as long as you’re ready.
- Mental health support that’s real — not just a pamphlet by the microwave.
- You may never see the lives you save, but you'll feel the impact daily.
- Promotions possible — from senior dispatcher to supervisor or training officer.
This job blends technology, communication, and human urgency — all under one headset. You’ll work in shifts, alongside a tight-knit team, where coordination and trust are everything. You won’t be in the ambulance, but you’ll be the reason it arrives fast and prepared. You’ll discover how powerful your voice can be when it delivers calm, control, and help. You’ll gain emotional resilience — not by avoiding intensity, but by learning how to process it with strength. You won’t be visible to the public — but your timing, logic, and calm will ripple through every life you help save. You’ll leave each shift proud, maybe tired, but certain that your voice helped someone hold on a little longer. If you’re ready to help others through their worst days while protecting your own strength — we’ll show you how to do both.
