Description:
We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist for our mall-based service kiosk — ideal for someone who’s fast, friendly, and ready to restore footwear in a high-traffic setting. You’ll handle walk-in repairs from customers looking for quick fixes, custom upgrades, and same-day results. You’ll be trained to work efficiently with compact tools and machines suited for small-space operations. You’ll be trained to operate portable tools and battery-powered machines safely and efficiently within small spaces. You’ll learn how to use micro-sanders, needle stitchers, and hand-finishing tools to restore like-new condition without altering original structure. You’ll help explain repair options to clients who may not know what’s possible, building trust through transparency and skill. You’ll assess each pair carefully, recommending repairs or alternatives based on structure, material, and cost. You’ll clean and polish luxury footwear using non-abrasive, premium products for optimal shine and preservation. You’ll maintain a tidy mobile station and keep your toolkit stocked, sanitized, and ready for multiple jobs per day.
Basic Qualifications:
- Polish, condition, and clean leather or suede shoes to improve appearance and prolong lifespan.
- Diagnose shoe damage and provide customers with clear repair options and price estimates.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship while meeting turnaround times and deadlines.
- Apply protective treatments like waterproofing, dyes, or sole guards when requested.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and keep tools in good working condition.
Preferred:
- Capable of identifying structural damage and recommending realistic, cost-effective solutions.
- Comfortable operating and maintaining shop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Thrives in quiet, skill-focused environments where patience and technique make a difference.
- Familiar with using digital payment systems, service logs, or basic POS software in a repair shop setting.
- Understands how to match replacement parts like soles, laces, and eyelets to maintain the original shoe design.
Benefits:
- A job that celebrates craftsmanship — you’re not just fixing shoes, you’re preserving art.
- Room to grow — expand your skills into leather goods, bags, or even custom repairs.
- Bonuses for exceptional work — we appreciate when you go the extra mile.
- You’ll build long-term relationships with clients — many will return again and again.
- Tools, materials, and workspace provided — we ensure you have everything you need to succeed.
You’ll maintain a clean, visually appealing workstation that invites passersby and communicates professional craftsmanship. You’ll support inventory restocking, label printing, and service pricing updates as needed for smooth operations. You’ll be trained to spot repairs that require workshop-level tools and help coordinate timely transport when needed. You’ll be mentored on how to balance quality and speed while managing a steady stream of incoming jobs. You’ll receive mentorship from experienced cobblers who value patience, quality, and reputation. No experience required — just a love for sneakers, respect for movement, and good hands for the job. Prior experience with leatherwork or fashion repair is a plus, but passion for excellence matters most. If you’re ready to bring worn-out soles back to life, we’re ready to train you in the timeless craft of shoe repair.
