Description:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated Online Research Assistant to support our team with gathering and analyzing data. You’ll be responsible for conducting online research on a variety of topics, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and reliable. You’ll focus on identifying key trends, insights, and data points that will help our team make informed decisions. Your role will involve extracting insights from large datasets, summarizing findings, and providing actionable recommendations. You’ll compile reports and present findings in a concise format, summarizing large amounts of data into digestible insights. You’ll identify trends and patterns within data, helping guide our strategic decisions and future actions. You’ll ensure all sources are credible, verified, and aligned with the research goals, providing accurate and trustworthy data. You’ll verify the accuracy of information, cross-checking multiple sources to ensure credibility and reliability. You’ll also be tasked with staying on top of emerging trends and best practices to ensure the team remains informed.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay organized using folders, naming conventions, and version control so no data gets lost or duplicated.
• Use advanced search techniques, filters, and databases (Google Scholar, LinkedIn, government sites, etc.) to get better results faster.
• Summarize findings clearly in Google Docs, Notion, or spreadsheets—highlighting key points, links, and insights in a clean format.
• Track emerging trends, competitor activity, or market developments by setting up alerts, feeds, or scheduled checks.
• Update existing research reports or databases with fresh info as it becomes available.

Preferred:

• Comfortable verifying facts, dates, or quotes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Values accuracy, curiosity, and ethical information gathering.
• Knows how to fact-check and cross-verify from multiple sources before sharing conclusions.
• Knows how to spot biases or inconsistencies in sources or information.
• Strong internet research skills and ability to find credible, up-to-date information.

You’ll also be tasked with creating bibliographies and references, making sure all sources are properly cited. You’ll support the team by providing timely updates and answering any questions regarding the data you collect. You’ll assist in writing research papers or documents, properly citing sources and following the required format. This is a remote, flexible role, allowing you to work independently while contributing to the team’s success.
