Description:

We’re hiring a Caregiver to provide compassionate support for clients in palliative or end-of-life care — ideal for someone who can offer calm, respectful presence during life’s most delicate moments. You’ll monitor clients through the night, providing assistance as needed with repositioning, bathroom trips, or anxiety relief. You’ll be trained to follow care plans that may include sensory support, behavioral cues, communication tools, and therapy exercises. You’ll stay alert throughout the night, ready to respond to calls, movement, or signs of discomfort. You’ll help with walking, transferring from bed or chair, and using walkers or canes safely around the home. You’ll assist with checking on breathing patterns, temperature comfort, or medical equipment if required. You’ll collaborate with parents, therapists, and educators to maintain consistency and reinforce goals from home to school. You’ll offer reassurance or redirection to clients who wake up confused, disoriented, or frightened in the dark. You’ll support families by offering updates, reassurance, or simply relieving them for a few hours of rest.

Basic Qualifications:

• Maintain a calm, caring presence—even on difficult or emotionally draining days.
• Administer medications according to schedule and keep accurate records if required.
• Follow personalized care plans while being attentive to changing needs or comfort levels.
• Follow hygiene and infection control standards to protect both client and caregiver.
• Respect the dignity, privacy, and independence of clients in all interactions.

Preferred:

• Respects client boundaries, cultural values, and preferences in daily care routines.
• Capable of preparing simple, nutritious meals based on dietary restrictions or preferences.
• Familiar with safe techniques for transferring, repositioning, and using mobility aids such as walkers or wheelchairs.
• Team-oriented and willing to coordinate with family caregivers, nurses, or care managers.
• Pays close attention to hygiene, skin care, and dietary needs based on client routines or medical recommendations.

You’ll respond calmly to mood swings, forgetfulness, or frustration, offering reassurance and routine-based care. You’ll receive mentoring from experienced caregivers who’ve walked this path and can guide you with insight and respect. You’ll receive guidance from daytime staff and pass along complete reports to ensure continuity of care. You’ll receive guidance and mentorship from experienced care coordinators who will help you grow into your role. You’ll document care activities gently and discreetly, maintaining privacy for both client and family. You’ll provide peace of mind not just to clients, but to their families, knowing someone is awake and attentive.
