Description:

We’re looking for a Gardener / Landscaper Trainee — no experience needed, just a willingness to get your hands dirty and learn something real. You’ll be part of a team that turns plain outdoor areas into peaceful, green, living spaces. We’ll teach you the basics: how to handle tools safely, how to dig without damaging roots, and how to water properly. Your early days will include sweeping paths, preparing soil, unloading plants, and cleaning up after the crew. You’ll learn how to care for lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees in all kinds of weather and soil conditions. You’ll begin to recognize plant types, understand soil conditions, and learn how sunlight and water affect growth. You’ll assist with laying sod, planting trees, building garden beds, and keeping landscapes clean and healthy. We’ll teach you how to shape hedges, edge walkways, spread fertilizer, and care for trees and shrubs. We’ll show you how to spot signs of disease, pests, or poor drainage — and how to fix or prevent problems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Adapt to outdoor working conditions—sun, rain, heat, or cold—and maintain productivity across changing environments.
• Read and follow site plans, blueprints, or garden designs to install and maintain landscapes accurately.
• Install sod, turf, or ground cover and prepare soil by digging, aerating, or grading for optimal growing conditions.
• Work with clients or property managers to understand landscaping preferences, budgets, and seasonal maintenance needs.
• Keep tools clean, sharp, and properly stored; notify supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working in teams or independently depending on project scope.
• Wants to grow into roles like Lead Gardener, Landscape Designer, or Grounds Supervisor.
• Experience maintaining gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas in residential or commercial settings.
• Willing to assist with hardscaping tasks such as laying stones, borders, or light pathway construction.
• Open to tasks like rooftop garden care, vertical gardens, or container planting for urban settings.
