Description:

We’re inviting a future educator to join our elementary school classroom as a trainee who’s ready to learn by doing. You’ll work side-by-side with seasoned teachers, observing how they spark curiosity, build routines, and create safe, joyful spaces for learning. You’ll greet students, learn their names, and slowly become a familiar, trusted face they look forward to seeing. You’ll learn to manage energy levels, support different personalities, and adapt when things don’t go as planned — which happens often in education! Whether helping tie shoelaces, sharpen pencils, or calm nerves before a quiz, you’ll be there — quietly building trust. You’ll read stories aloud, guide art projects, check math worksheets, and listen patiently to countless important stories from 6-year-olds. You’ll learn the importance of routines, classroom boundaries, and how consistency builds trust with students. We’ll coach you in classroom management strategies, positive reinforcement, and how to turn chaos into teachable moments. You’ll build relationships with students by being present, consistent, and genuinely interested in their progress and well-being.

Basic Qualifications:

• Balance instruction, supervision, and care with professionalism and heart.
• Prepare classroom materials, visuals, and activities in advance to keep each day structured and smooth.
• Foster a love of reading, problem-solving, and critical thinking from an early age.
• Incorporate play, hands-on learning, and storytelling to keep lessons fun and age-appropriate.
• Model patience, respect, and enthusiasm—your attitude sets the tone for your students.

Preferred:

• Organized with lesson planning, grading, and maintaining detailed student records and portfolios.
• Able to create engaging, inclusive, and structured classroom environments that support learning and curiosity.
• Willing to supervise recess, lunch, field trips, and extracurricular activities as needed.
• Comfortable using various instructional strategies including group work, hands-on activities, and technology integration.
• Committed to creating a culturally responsive classroom that respects and reflects student diversity.
