Description:

We’re offering a Barista Internship for someone who’s excited to join a coffee-loving team and learn how to serve drinks that brighten people’s day. You’ll help open early — preparing the machines, aligning cups, and making sure everything is stocked and spotless before the morning rush begins. You’ll assist in prepping gear, checking the espresso machine, and stocking milk, beans, and cups before service starts. You’ll be trained to take orders quickly, remember regulars, and make every interaction feel personal, even in a rush. You’ll learn to multitask — pulling shots, steaming milk, and chatting with customers, all in tight spaces and changing environments. You’ll support front-of-house service by taking orders, explaining the menu, and making thoughtful recommendations. You’ll learn how to work clean and fast, keeping your station tidy while handling multiple drink tickets at once. You’ll be taught to stay calm under pressure — whether it’s a long line at a festival or sudden weather changes during service. You’ll help support daily rituals like cuppings, team calibration, and opening the café with intention and flow.

Basic Qualifications:

• Operate coffee equipment like grinders, espresso machines, and milk steamers safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper brewing techniques, milk frothing, and latte art for a great visual and taste experience.
• Respond to customer feedback—positive or negative—with professionalism and care.
• Adapt quickly when orders are changed, mistakes happen, or supplies run low.
• Customize drinks based on preferences—milk alternatives, extra shots, flavors, or temperatures.

Preferred:

• Values friendliness, precision, and teamwork in a service-driven environment.
• Can manage opening/closing tasks including cash handling, cleaning, and prepping for the next shift.
• Familiar with operating espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment with attention to safety and cleanliness.
• Familiar with basic coffee bean knowledge, roast profiles, and brewing techniques (e.g., pour-over, French press, cold brew).
• Understands how to manage customer queues, prepare orders efficiently, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
