Description:

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Elementary School Teacher Intern who’s ready to step into the classroom and grow through real-world experience. You’ll start each day with a smile, helping set up the classroom so it’s calm, clean, and ready for learning. You’ll shadow experienced teachers, observe their teaching styles, and begin to understand what effective instruction really looks like. You’ll help manage classroom routines, maintain structure, and gently guide students in their behavior and focus. You’ll help guide classroom behavior using patience, fairness, and consistent expectations. You’ll learn how to create lesson plans, assess student progress, and adjust teaching methods for different learning styles. You’ll learn how to create classroom harmony — through routines, gentle redirection, and lots of positive reinforcement. You’ll join in morning meetings, recess duty, and class projects — helping students feel seen, heard, and supported. You’ll help monitor behavior, support emotional regulation, and step in kindly when conflict arises between students.

Basic Qualifications:

• Support classroom cleanliness, safety, and organization daily.
• Document attendance, assessments, and behavioral notes accurately and confidentially.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Adapt quickly when lessons don’t go as planned or students need more time or explanation.
• Incorporate play, hands-on learning, and storytelling to keep lessons fun and age-appropriate.

Preferred:

• Familiar with educational tools such as Google Classroom, Seesaw, SMART Boards, or interactive whiteboards.
• Experience planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons in core subjects such as math, reading, science, and social studies.
• Organized with lesson planning, grading, and maintaining detailed student records and portfolios.
• Open to attending parent-teacher conferences, school events, and ongoing professional development workshops.
• Committed to creating a culturally responsive classroom that respects and reflects student diversity.
