Description:

We’re hiring a Loader Trainee to support cargo handling at our maritime terminal — ideal for someone who’s physically ready, alert, and curious about large-scale global logistics. You’ll begin by learning how to load and unload shipments of perishable goods like produce, dairy, and packaged foods. You’ll learn how to handle loading tasks efficiently while maintaining safety and accuracy in a low-light, low-noise environment. You’ll be trained to work in different temperature zones — from ambient to refrigerated and frozen — with proper safety gear. You’ll help stack and wrap pallets, making sure fragile or crushable goods like bread, eggs, or fruit are packed with care. You’ll support keeping aisles and loading docks clear, organized, and hazard-free throughout your shift. You’ll support unloading procedures by stacking goods neatly, disposing of damaged packaging, and alerting supervisors to issues. You’ll gain experience in reading manifests and using checklists to confirm that every order is accounted for before it leaves. You’ll follow strict safety rules — from reflective vests to helmet use — and help maintain a clean, hazard-free dock area.

Basic Qualifications:

• Assist with general warehouse tasks like sorting, staging, or cleaning when not actively loading.
• Communicate with drivers, supervisors, or warehouse staff to coordinate loading activities.
• Follow company procedures and safety protocols at all times—no shortcuts.
• Handle packages, boxes, or materials with care to avoid damage during transit.
• Label and organize items correctly before they are loaded for shipping or storage.

Preferred:

• Familiar with proper lifting techniques and use of equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and hand trucks.
• Comfortable with repetitive physical tasks and staying productive during long shifts.
• Familiar with handling a variety of goods including fragile, bulky, or hazardous materials as per instructions.
• Wants to grow into roles like Forklift Operator, Loading Supervisor, or Dock Coordinator.
• Values hard work, reliability, and accuracy in physically demanding roles.
