Description:
We’re hiring a Seamstress Trainee to support garment production in our sewing factory — perfect for someone who enjoys repetition, structure, and building real technical skill in a team setting. You’ll begin by learning how to handle delicate fabrics like chiffon, satin, lace, and tulle with precision and care. You’ll be trained to work with various materials — from heavy period fabrics to stretchwear, lace, sequins, and leather. You’ll help take measurements and fit costumes to performers of all sizes, adjusting pieces for movement, quick changes, or visual impact. You’ll help take client measurements and assist during fittings by noting changes needed for length, bust, waist, and hips. You’ll receive coaching on how to maintain even seam allowances, meet speed goals, and inspect your own work as you go. You’ll support quality control by flagging stitching errors, skipped seams, or material flaws before garments move forward. You’ll learn how to follow tech packs, production charts, and standard sizing templates for uniform results. You’ll receive instruction on how to preserve costumes during long runs, transport them between locations, and handle delicate or high-value items.
Basic Qualifications:
- Practice safe handling of needles, scissors, and cutting tools in a shared space.
- Sew, alter, and repair garments by hand or using industrial sewing machines with precision and care.
- Work with a variety of materials including silk, denim, wool, and stretch fabrics.
- Track orders, manage deadlines, and keep detailed notes for each customer or project.
- Communicate clearly with clients about alteration timelines, design requests, and garment care.
Preferred:
- Willing to assist with costume creation, bridal wear, uniforms, or mass-produced apparel based on the role.
- Pays strong attention to detail in stitching, seams, pattern alignment, and fabric consistency.
- Proficient in operating equipment such as straight-stitch, serger, overlock, or embroidery machines.
- Familiar with cutting fabric efficiently to reduce waste and maintain pattern integrity.
- Capable of hand-sewing detailed work such as buttons, appliqués, beads, and lace.
Benefits:
- Work that blends creativity with precision — patterns, details, finishes.
- Flexible hours to match your rhythm — early start or late flow, it’s your craft.
- Custom orders, bridal fixes, costumes — no two projects are the same.
- We honor old-school skill — your experience speaks louder than any degree.
- Quiet music, tea breaks, and clean tables — a calm environment matters.
You’ll assist with thread changes, machine cleaning, and minor adjustments under the supervision of senior operators. You’ll be expected to work quickly and adapt to last-minute changes with calmness and precision. You’ll help prepare dresses for photo shoots, runway previews, or bridal showcases if part of the atelier calendar. You’ll rotate between prep, alteration, and finishing stations to learn the entire couture workflow. You’ll learn how to store and protect gowns, handle last-minute requests, and communicate with the front desk team. You’ll be mentored by bridal specialists who will guide your stitching, posture, and eye for elegance. This internship is ideal for someone considering factory sewing, apparel production, or pattern-based tailoring. If you're ready to stitch as part of a fast-moving team that builds garments from the ground up, we’re ready to train you. If you’re ready to work with lace, patience, and love, we’re ready to train you in the bridal atelier.
