Description:

We’re looking for an experienced Translation Specialist to help ensure that our content reaches a global audience in multiple languages. You’ll be responsible for translating written documents, audio, and video content from one language to another, ensuring meaning is preserved. You’ll work closely with the content and marketing teams to ensure that all translations are culturally appropriate and on-brand. You’ll assist with localizing content, ensuring it is culturally appropriate for target audiences while keeping the original meaning intact. You’ll manage and prioritize multiple translation projects, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high quality. You’ll use translation software and tools to increase efficiency while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency. You’ll handle technical, legal, and general translations, requiring both linguistic expertise and subject-specific knowledge. You’ll participate in quality assurance processes to review translations, ensuring they meet client specifications and standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• Adapt language and tone to suit the target audience—what works in English might need cultural tweaking elsewhere.
• Stay updated on language trends, regional usage, or spelling differences (e.g., US vs UK English, formal vs informal Spanish).
• Proofread and edit translations for grammar, flow, and consistency—delivering polished, professional results.
• Translate written content accurately from one language to another, ensuring meaning, tone, and cultural nuance are preserved.
• Support localization efforts by adjusting formatting, layout, or expressions to match cultural and regional expectations.

Preferred:

• Capable of handling tight deadlines while maintaining high linguistic quality.
• Has translated for clients, agencies, or personal projects with a clear process.
• Thrives in detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and multilingual environments.
• Familiar with CAT tools like SDL Trados, Smartcat, or Memsource is a plus.
• Knows how to prioritize meaning and readability over literal translation when appropriate.
